The Echeveria sirius or "Lotus" Succulent, is a red-tipped, spiky varient of the Crassulaceae family which resembles a lotus flower. These succulents are native to southern California, and require quite a bit of sunshine, but don't need a lot of water. Water these plants from the roots to avoid over-watering. If the tips begin to yellow, water the plant more frequently. The leaves may also spread wide if there is not enough sunlight.

Love it!

I'm so thankful these things exist 'cause otherwise all my plants would be dead. My boyfriend bought a bunch of these succulents for me in hopes of alleviating my tendency to kill every plant I've ever owned, and it somehow managed to work so far. This one is definitely my favourite because I love lotus flowers. I'd probably kill actual lotuses so I'm glad there's an alternative!
